Academic and General Test
New IELTS test format is important to understand for the aspirants stepping in for IELTS Exam. The particular exam is available in two versions including Academic for people applying for higher education or professional registration and General Training for the people migrating to Australia, Canada and the UK. Either applying for secondary education, training programmes and work experience in an English-speaking environment. For the following FOUR language skills, both versions facilitate a valid & and exact assessment such as:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
With no breaks in between, IELTS Listening, Reading and Writing are conducted on the similar day. IELTS Speaking test is usually scheduled on the afternoon but it can be scheduled within seven days before or after that. In order to their IELTS test centres about the date and location of the speaking test, candidates are conveyed accordingly. The total time duration of the test is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Listening
Listening test is same for both General and Academic modules.
The Listening module consists of four sections with 40 items. Each section has 1 recording of total 10 questions. A variety of voices and native-speaker accents are used and each section recording can be heard only once. | |

Speaking
Speaking test is same for both General and Academic modules.

Reading

Writing
Writing test is different for Academic and General modules.

IELTS Academic Writing test consists of 2 tasks in formal writing style. Topics are suitable for candidates planning undergraduate and postgraduate studies abroad or seeking professional registration. | |
